2024 Interiors Trends Predictions

As we enter a New Year, predictions about the interior design trends set to dominate 2024 abound! Industrialism and ultra-minimalism are on their way out - but what’s going to be in? Following extensive market research, our design experts at Terrys have come together to choose their top five trends for the year ahead. 

Comprising new colours, textiles and aesthetics into your existing spaces - without breaking the bank - we’ve even thrown in some product recommendations and styling tips. 

Gareth Coxall, the Marketing and Creative Director at Terrys, commented: “2024 is going to be all about going back to nature - green shades, natural textures, organic shapes and an emphasis on creating warm, cosy spaces will dominate the next 12 months. We’re not advocating for a full home renovation though - create subtle nods to 2024’s top trends throughout the home by adding a cushion to your couch, re-energising your bedroom with a tactile bedspread, or even investing in a solid wood armchair to curl up in.” 

Retro Vibes

Create a home full of personality and charm by channelling the 70s aesthetic. Dark woods, lacquered surfaces, shaggy faux fur rugs and low seating all lend spaces a retro vibe reminiscent of that famously free-spirited, optimistic era.

Warm Tones

With Pantone crowning Peach Fuzz the colour of 2024, shades which sit anywhere in the vicinity of peach on the colour spectrum are welcome. Choose warm-toned neutrals like ochre, chocolate, oatmeal, burgundy, tan, burnt orange and cream to create an inviting, cosy home. Should you prefer not to start the year up to your elbows in emulsion, add pops of colour through your accessories instead.

Earthy, natural tones instantly engender calm, relaxed spaces - long gone are the clinical whites and harsh greys of the last few years. Biophilic Design

Biophilic design is an interior design trend and aesthetic inspired by nature and sustainability. Incorporate natural light and leafy plants into a colour scheme reminiscent of the great outdoors to satisfy the back-to-nature yearning it’s all too easy to feel, cooped up over the winter months. Curvaceousness

Straight lines, be gone! Scalloped motifs, soft shapes and curved edges are the name of the game this year. Whether you celebrate the curve through printed textiles, a collection of bud vases or a round coffee table, say no to 90 degree angles in 2024! For the more ambitious trendsetter, interior arches have made quite the comeback in recent months. Consider getting the plasterboard out to soften any harsh doorways and encourage a more organic feel throughout the home.
